Week 8 Sheep, Yabbi’s and Wine
Visiting a sheering shed, catching yabbi’s in a dam, learning the difference between different types of chickens, staying in a ghost town, tasting wine in the famous Margaret river wine valley, walking along the Cape to Cape track, reaching the southern most point of Australia and getting lost in the middle of the biggest trees in the country near Denmark.
Week 7 First adventures in the van
Learning how to live in our van, making a mistake and letting thousands of mosquitoes into our Baby Hippo, visiting the Pinnacles desert, fighting with flies, seeing our first Kangaroo and Emu in the wild, sleeping on a beach with turquoise water, playing with penguins on Penguin island, heading out into outback alone for the first time.
Semaine 7 : Autour de Perth
Sur la route, c'est sans doute le fait majeur de cette semaine. Notre résidence est désormais un beau petit van et cela va durer un bon moment. Cette semaine nous avons côtoyé des moustiques près de la petite ville de Rockingham, traversé nos premières routes désertes au nord de Perth, croisés nos premiers road train, vu des déserts où poussent des rocher à Pinnacle, dormis sur des plages superbes à Sandy Beach ainsi que dans le bush australien, et photographié des pingouins à … Pingouin Islande … forcément. On peut dire que la semaine est chargée.
Rodriguez the No Stress Island
Rodriguez an Island 650KM north east of the main island Mauritius is known affectionately by its residents and visitors as the Island ‘No Stress Island.’
A Bacchus !
La France, sa tour Eiffel, ses fromages, ses régions, ses croissants et … son vin. Une fois à l'étranger il y a certaines choses qui vous manquent et il est intéressant de voir comment les autres cultures traitent des sujets tel que l'alcool.
Week 6 Perth & Searching for a van
Getting used to the Australian accent, visiting the city of Perth. Playing with animals at the Zoo, trying our luck at a musical quiz down at our local pub, enjoying the little creatures’ pub in Fremantle, seeing hundreds of parrots in the trees near Cottsloe beach, sleeping in our baby hippo for the first time.
Semaine 6 : Perth city
Perth est une ville qui nous plait beaucoup, il y a beaucoup d'activités à faire, de nombreux commerces, bars, restaurants du monde entier, des sports de toute sorte... Cette semaine est riche en évènements. Tout d'abord nous apprenons que nous ne sommes pas millionnaires, ni très bon en quizz musical australien (il faudra travailler cela), notre compte en banque est enfin ouvert, nous avons notre van, et Freementle est une très belle ville où passer le weekend, surtout au « little creatures »
Ecotourism on the Mauritius Islands
Having spent one month spilt almost equally between the two Mauritius islands; Mauritius and its little sister Rodrigues I had the chance to see and take part in most of the islands ecotourism activities. Each island has activities to offer, as well as lots of nature to see and enjoy. There are surprisingly lots of differences in the way that tourism has been and is being managed on the two islands.
Semaine 5 : plongée, dégustation, voyages et combats administratifs
Au programme de la semaine : plongée, dégustation, voyages et combats administratifs. Nous terminons notre périple mauriciens par une visite de ses fonds marins et de ses rhumeries, deux lieux que nous avions jusqu'à présent négligés mais qui vaillent le coup d'œil … et de coude ;o) Perth nous accueille avec un grand soleil et plein de bonne nourriture, c'est la fin de l'aventure créole, nous revoilà dans un monde plus occidental avant d'entamer notre périple dans le bush à bord de notre van … qu'il nous faut trouver.
Week 5 highlights Indian Ocean
Scuba diving off the reefs of Mauritius, eating lobster fresh out of the ocean, trying the rum of the sugar cane island (Mauritius), saying goodbye to the pearl of the Indian ocean, flying 7 hours over nothing but water to reach land again on the biggest island of this trip, Australia and starting a search for our van.
